There are many good sources of advice on the internet to help you self-manage your condition without needing to see a GP. Please consider the following sources of information below.

Organ Donation

Organ donation in England has moved to an ‘opt out’ system.  This means that all adults in England will be considered to have agreed to be an organ donor when they die unless they have recorded a decision not to donate or are in one of the excluded groups

Your family will still be approached and your faith, beliefs and culture will continue to be respected.

To register your decision as to whether you want to be an organ donor or not please visit https://www.organdonation.nhs.uk/You can also record your decision using the NHS App.  To find out more information and download the NHS App please visit https://www.nhs.uk/apps-library/nhs-app/

The Team

In August 2011 we became a training practice which means in short we can train GPs on their final stages of becoming GPs.

You will see new faces in the practice over the next few years and these will be our new Trainees or GP Registrars (to give them their proper title).

Please do not be put off by the name ‘Trainee’, they are as high skilled as our normal GPs but they need ‘on the job’ experience so please go to see them also as this will provide the experience and practice they need.

We also have a team of Pharmacists, Med Techs and Advanced Nurse Practitioners that work within out primary care network.

The Village Surgery also employs 11 additional administrative and reception staff who perform important roles within the surgery including providing patients with information on services and results, and directing patients to the appropriate person depending on the health issue or query raised.

GP Earnings

All GP practices are required to declare the mean earnings (eg average pay) for GPs working to deliver NHS services to patients at each practice.

However it should be noted that the prescribed method for calculating earnings is potentially misleading. It takes no account of how much time doctors spend working in the practice and should not be used to form any judgement about GP earnings nor, to make any comparison with any other practice.

The average pay for GPs working at The Village Surgery in the last financial year was £78,783 before tax and national insurance. This is for 9 part time GPs who were working at the practice for six months or more.

We use a processor, iGPR Technologies Limited (“iGPR”), to assist us with responding to report requests relating to your patient data, such as subject access requests that you submit to us (or that someone acting on your behalf submits to us) and report requests that insurers submit to us under the Access to Medical Records Act 1988 in relation to a life insurance policy that you hold or that you are applying for. iGPR manages the reporting process for us by reviewing and responding to requests in accordance with our instructions and all applicable laws, including UK data protection laws.
